The Layers panel is where you create, modify, and execute layers and where you apply other layers to your images. It lets you work on individual layers and groups of layers at the same time. You can attach layers to different programs, such as composite, color, and bump maps and even use layers in the different styles programs. Photoshop also provides the means to blend layers so that they blend with one another in interesting ways. In order to do this, you must group the layers.
